Completed Search : FREITAG family

We were - or rather Anna was searching for any information about a family named FREITAG who in 1942 - 1944 were living in GROSSBORKEN, East Prussia , or Poland since the end of World War II.

Anna and her mother escaped from the MINSK ghetto. They were caught, and taken as slave workers from 1942 – 1944 to a family in East Prussia called FREITAG. Anna was 5 years old at the time.

They were saved in this way only because Anna’s mother must have had had false identity documents, and was known as Sofia Matusevitch .
She worked on the farm of a family by the name of FREITAG in a town called GROSSBORKEN near Koenigsberg (Kaliningrad today). We do not know the correct name in Polish for GROSSBORKEN.
The Freitag family had many children. Both Sofia and Anna were treated well on that farm. Sofia has died some tie ago, and Anna has a dream of finding those Freitags.
