Vera and Gerd (Gerhard) JONAS - From Breslau to England on

Kindertransport

We had been asked to locate 2 children of a family from Breslau who came to England in a children's transport - known as the Kindertransport. They are Gerd (Gerhard) and Vera JONAS. Gerd was born on 2 Jan 1928 and Vera on 26 Dec 1931

They were the children of Georg and Frieda JONAS who were deported to Terezin (Teresienstadt)

Last address in Breslau was Ohlau Ring 1.

They had family in the USA - an uncle by the name of Felix JONAS who, in the 1940's lived at 650 South Croft Avenue, La Jolla, Los Angeles, California

In 1948 - 1949 the siblings were in a school in England: The Slopes in Hartford, Cheshire.
and stayed at 16 Townfield Lane, Barnton, Cheshire.

Gerd was articled as a solicitor. He was somehow connected to - we do not know how - a Mr JAFFE at 3 Paper Buildings, Temple, London

We are advised that a picture exists, taken in Breslau by Franz Richter, Ernststr. 5, Breslau, taken in the early 1930's, but we do not have it at present.
